IDBS makes discovery data manageable by bringing it all together
ActivityBase fully integrated Chemical and Biological Data Management

Major Spanish Pharmaceutical company selects IDBS E-WorkBook as its strategic Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) solution across the whole of their drug research.

Esteve extends existing partnership with IDBS

Guildford, United Kingdom, May 3, 2006 - IDBS today announced an agreement with Laboratorios Esteve S.A., Barcelona, Spain, to implement the E-WorkBook (EWB) electronic laboratory notebook solution across Esteve's R&D organisation; including synthetic, medicinal and analytical chemistry, and biology. Building on over 15 years of expertise in discovery data management, EWB represents the next generation ELN, enabling data capture, intellectual property protection and information sharing.

"We have worked with IDBS for several years so it was natural to invite them to discuss our ELN needs," said Dr Jordi Quintana of Esteve, Head of the ELN Working Group. "Our requirements for an R&D ELN were very specific and demanding but we found that IDBS were able to meet these requirements. The other significant benefit is the integration with our IDBS ActivtyBase data management and registration system."

"From conception, EWB was intended to provide a portal onto research data from disparate data sources," added Neil Kipling, Chairman and CEO of IDBS. "EWB was an evolutionary addition to our discovery data management portfolio."

Esteve, established in 1929, is a family-owned chemical pharmaceutical group with a global presence and manufactures and markets a portfolio of medicines for the treatment of a wide variety of both human and veterinary disease. IDBS is a leading provider of discovery data management solutions.
